Winter 2007
Initial ideas were being discussed for the possibility of a new virtual airline, exact details and operations werent finalised yet. During this time the name was decided, Breathe Airways was born, many of you reading this wont believe how long it took to come up with that name, everything you think of is either taken, been used or too similar with real world airlines. During March saw FlyReliance Airways close down freeing up the aircraft equipment for use with Breathe Airways, destined for temporary storage the final livery was designed and painted with the first aircraft in their final livery by March 30th.
Spring 2007
As the livery was complete and flights were well underway the main part of any virtual airline is the website, initial designs were discussed and the final layout decided. The next few weeks and months require alot of hard work to get the website running and professional looking. Aircraft fleet decided and final livery painted, corporate font had to be changed due to overuse by many other start-up virtual airlines. Website well underway and main content being written. Destinations and flights decided throughout Europe, Africa and America.
Summer 2007
Main website is complete, final work needed to finalise graphics but automation is now complete with many new features including Google maps, aircraft logbook and crew centre. Flights being inputted into schedules systems and finalising features ready for launch. Flight schedules have been entered into the website systems, last minute website finishing touches and testing can begin. New promotional video created and launched on temporary website. Breathe Airways launches pre-release logo jet G-BREZ. The launch date decided as the Sunday 23rd at 18:00GMT, Breathe announces 757 will have winglets fitted to all aircraft, final webpages uploaded, countdown to launch date!
Autumn 2007
A month after our launch and we have a record numbers of pilots flying flights for us, massive amount of hits are being recorded each week and plans for the future begin, this including the acquisition of Indian low-cost carrier Hindustan Airlines. Breathe Airways announces partnerships with Hindustan Airlines and Kazoo Airlines to offer our pilots more flight choice and codeshare operations, website updated with new pages and first magazine in the Oxygen club is launched. Pilots continue to grow in numbers and seasonal charters to new destinations are launched.
Winter 2008
Breathe Airways launches RSS news feeds so our pilots and visitors can keep up to date with the latest happenings direct to their desktop, more charter flights begin and new staff appointments take place. Website hits remain at an all time high and pilot numbers continue to grow. Sister airline Kazoo Airlines commences operations in Australia. Orders are placed for four Embraer 145 aircraft to replace the Boeing 737-800's on routes around UK and Europe freeing the 738 aircraft for longer and more cost effective routes, new updates to the website take place and pilot numbers steadily grow.
Spring 2008
In April 2008 we held our first real world event as Bristol Airport, this was a great time to show some real world presence and broaden our horizons in the virtual and real world. We also saw the launch of a new subsidiary for our Openskies flight schedules with two leased Boeing 757 aircraft opening up new routes and possibilities for current and new pilots. Pilot numbers continue to grow and the plans for a new improved website begin. We also become an official affiliated partner of online flying network IVAO.
Summer 2008
The closure of sister airline Kazoo Airlines means that Breathe Airways acquires fur Airbus A320 aircraft for the summer season, these are ferried back to the UK by a few of our pilots, brand new website is launched with new features and improved systems after listening to what our pilots wanted. Plans for new larger aircraft are underway for future expansion. Future updates and events being planned. |
